La Primavera araba e le manifestazioni in Egitto, sono state momenti importanti e molto celebrati. Quello che ne sappiamo, o che ci resta, è però un'immagine poco approfondita, uno sguardo esterno in cui la tragedia di Giulio Regeni resta un baratro oscuro. Il graphic journalism ha il compito di rendere evidente il mondo in cui viviamo e soprattutto situazioni di cui poco parla il giornalismo ufficiale. Questo libro di Ferenc e Blast, voluto e sostenuto da Amnesty International, racconta in modo chiaro e documentato, il metodo di estrema violenza usato per fermare le donne che scendevano a protestare in piazza, in Egitto, durante la primavera araba. Le armi sessiste dell’umiliazione e della violenza sessuale, messe in atto in mezzo alla folla (e successivamente anche negli uffici della polizia), oltre alla violenza già nota, di bastonate e torture. Un libro fondamentale per capire come il corpo della donna sia due volte vittima, nella folla la ragazza o la donna viene circondata, isolata e assalita. La violenza in Egitto è stata strumento anche per zittire e allontanare giornaliste straniere. La risposta è opporsi e denunciare sempre. Un tema non lontano dalle donne che in Italia leggeranno questo graphic novel, per capire che opporsi contro la violenza e la violenza sessuale è una lotta comune, da condividere .
