London, Carlton Books 2004, cm.24x29, pp.240, ill.col. hardcover with dustjacket. League champions 18 times, FA Cup winners six times and League Cup winners six times. It's a record that makes Liverpool the most successful English Club. In Europe the tally is also huge: UEFA Cup winners four times and European Cup winners a massive four times. To look at the players that have worn the famous red shirt is to wander through a historical who's who of world football: the story of Liverpool Football Club is rich in success and glory, but it is also rich in tradition: the famous bootroom ethic permeates every corridor of the Club; the Kop, despite its modernisation into an all-seater stand, still offers a fanatical support that, many claim, is worth a goal start.

#325698 Storia Antica
Cambridge, Cambridge University Press 1984, cm.14x22, pp.XIX,259, legatura editoriale, sopraccoperta. Collana Cambridge Commentaries on Writings of the Jewish and Christian World 200 BC to AD 200, Volume 7. The three general editors of the Cambridge Bible Commentary series have all, in their teaching, experienced a lack of readily usable texts of the literature which is often called psuedepigrapha but which is more accurately defined as extra-biblical or parabiblical literature. The aim of this series is to help fill this gap. The welcome accorded to the Cambridge Bible Commentary has encouraged the editors to follow the same pattern here, except that carefully chosen extracts from the texts, rather than complete books, have normally been provided for comment. The introductory material leads naturally into the text which itself leads into alternating sections of commentary. Within the severe limits imposed by the size and scope of the series each contributor will attempt to provide for the student and general reader the results of modern scholarship, but has been asked to assume no specialized theological or linguistic knowledge.
