Abstract: Rara copia di un libro che l'autore sintetizza così nel pieghevole allegato: "A succession of episodes during an active life of very varied experiences.These include a boyhood amid Naval traditions, visits to Australia and New Zealand, and a residence in California in the State's youthful days of 1868. After many years of business and public affairs in Liverpool, journeyings are again taken up, to Argentina and to Russia, each country being frequently visited. An official appointment in Rome throughout eleven years covered most of the War period, and then the recovery from chaotic conditions in Italy, which has taken place under the guidance of Signor Mussolini.
